How does same-day parcel delivery by taxi work?
A driver collects the item from your door and delivers it to the recipient the same day, at a fixed price you agree before booking. It's a same-day courier service by taxi, at any hour, right across greater Sydney: Palm Beach to Campbelltown, Penrith to Cronulla.
- Send the pickup and delivery addresses, the size and weight of the item and the deadline, through the booking form or by phone.
- We confirm the fixed price and the collection time by phone, email or WhatsApp. Pay by card, digital wallet, cash or Cabcharge.
- The driver collects the item, and you get updates while it's on the way.
- You receive proof of delivery once it's handed over.
If signed papers need to come back the same day, book the return leg at the same time.
What can you send with a taxi courier?
Anything that fits safely in a car or van and isn't dangerous or illegal. For example:
- Documents: signed contracts, tender documents or a set of keys that has to be somewhere today.
- Parcels: stock for a shop, parts for a job site, a gift, or a laptop left at the office.
- Luggage: suitcases sent ahead to a hotel, or a bag left behind after a trip.
- Bulky items that need the room of a maxi van, if you send the measurements first.
Pack fragile items well and tell us about them when you book.
Luggage forwarding helps when you check out of a hotel early and want a free day without the cases. Leave the bags at the front desk, give us the hotel name and the name the bags are held under, and the driver collects them from reception for delivery to your next stop.
What do you need to quote a delivery?
Five details give you an accurate fixed price the first time:
- Pickup and delivery addresses, including unit numbers, loading docks or reception desks
- The size and weight of each item, or a photo on WhatsApp if it's an odd shape
- Names and mobile numbers for the sender and the recipient
- When the item is ready, and the latest time it can arrive
- Whether it must be handed to a named person, or can be left with reception
For anything heavy, tell us whether there are stairs or a lift at either end, and whether someone can help carry it. Booking an evening delivery to a business? Check the recipient's hours first, because a locked office can't take a parcel.
What can't you send?
Dangerous goods and anything illegal. That covers items that are flammable, explosive, corrosive or otherwise hazardous, and anything that's against the law to carry or send.
Not sure whether an item counts? Ask before you book and we'll tell you straight away if we can't take it. Packaging matters too: tape boxes shut, and label each item with the recipient's name and address in case items get separated.
What happens when the parcel arrives?
You get updates while the item is on the way, then proof of delivery once it's handed over. Give us the recipient's name and mobile number so the driver can call on arrival.
Decide in advance what should happen if nobody answers, such as leaving it with reception, a building manager or a named neighbour, so the driver isn't left guessing on the doorstep. If it must go to one person only, say so when you book.
When is a taxi courier the right choice?
When something has to cross Sydney today and you want one driver responsible for it from pickup to handover. Typical cases:
- A signed contract that must reach a CBD office before close of business
- Parts a tradie needs on a Western Sydney site
- A laptop left at home on the morning of a presentation
- A bag that has to catch up with a hotel guest
For a small parcel with no deadline, a standard courier or Australia Post may suit you better.
