How does a pre-booked airport transfer work?
A pre-booked Sydney Airport transfer starts with a fixed price, agreed before anything is booked. On the day, a driver meets you at the terminal or at your front door, at 4 am or at midnight, public holidays included.
- Fill in the booking form with the pickup, drop-off, date, time and number of passengers. Put your flight number and the number of large bags in the notes.
- We reply by phone, email or WhatsApp with the fixed price and the meeting point. There's no app to download and no account to open.
- For arrivals, the driver follows your flight and moves the pickup to the real landing time.
- You pay the price you were quoted, by cash, card, digital wallet or Cabcharge. TTSS trips are charged under the NSW maximum fares rules; we confirm how your fare is charged when you book.
Where do you pick up international arrivals at Sydney Airport?
At T1 International, the exact meeting point comes with your booking confirmation, so you know where to head before you land. The airport's rules are the reason. Sydney Airport lets taxi drivers leave their vehicle to help passengers into the terminal at the designated pre-booked taxi bays at both terminals. At the general kerb, aviation security rules keep them in their seats.
Domestic flights use T2 or T3, which are separate buildings. Your boarding pass or airline app shows which one, so include it when you book. Group split across two flights? Send both flight numbers and we'll quote one pickup timed to the later landing, or two vehicles if the gap is long.
Flying in to join a cruise? Our cruise terminal transfers go from the airport straight to Circular Quay or White Bay.
What happens if my flight is late?
Your driver tracks the flight number you gave us and adjusts the pickup to the actual landing time, early or late. You don't need to call from the plane.
Tracking can't see inside the terminal, though. After an international landing, passport control and the baggage carousel can take a while, so send a WhatsApp to 0416 507 515 once you have your bags, or call if the queues are long. If the airline cancels the flight or moves it to another day, message us the new details as soon as you have them.
How much does a maxi taxi to Sydney Airport cost?
Sydney Maxi Taxi quotes every airport transfer as a fixed price before you book, based on your pickup suburb, the number of passengers, the luggage and the time of travel. The price you agree is the price you pay. No meter ticking over in traffic, and no surge at busy times.
The airport taxi ranks work differently. Since 3 November 2025, a fixed-fare trial has covered taxis caught at a Sydney Airport rank and going straight to the Sydney CBD trial area. Sydney Airport says booked services, airport transfers included, sit outside the trial: you pay the fare quoted and agreed when you booked.
| Trip | How the fare is set |
|---|---|
| Rank taxi to the CBD trial area | $60 fixed for a standard or wheelchair accessible taxi |
| Rank maxi taxi to the CBD trial area | $80 fixed with five or more passengers, or when you ask for a maxi |
| Rank taxi to anywhere else | Metered, and a maxi carrying five or more passengers can charge up to 150% of the regular fare |
| Pre-booked transfer with Sydney Maxi Taxi | Fixed quote agreed before you book |
Transport for NSW lists the trial as running for 18 months, while the government's announcement said 12, so check its current status before you count on it. Our guide to Sydney Airport maxi taxi fares compares the options in more detail.
Do maxi taxis have baby seats?
Ours do, when you ask. Booking a Sydney Airport transfer with a baby seat takes one step: choose Baby seat or Booster on the booking form and add each child's age in the notes. The driver fits the right seat for each child before pickup.
The rules in NSW depend on the vehicle and the child's age. In hire cars and rideshare, every child under 7 needs an approved child restraint, while taxis have their own age-based rules. Our guide to child car seats in NSW taxis explains both.
Which vehicle fits your group and luggage?
Count suitcases as well as people. A sedan for up to four suits a couple with two big cases. A family with a pram and long-haul luggage is better off in our largest maxi cab than squeezed into a seven seater.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Typical models |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maxi Van | Up to 11 passengers | Large luggage space | Toyota HiAce, Mercedes Sprinter or similar |
| Maxi 7 Seater | Up to 7 passengers | Ample boot space | Kia Carnival, Hyundai Staria or similar |
| Premium SUV | 1-5 passengers | Standard luggage | Lexus RX, Toyota Kluger or similar |
| Executive Sedan | 1-4 passengers | Standard luggage | Lexus ES, Toyota Camry or similar |
For an early departure, give us the flight time as well as the pickup time you want, and leave room for your airline's check-in and bag-drop cut-off. We run 24 hours, so a 4 am pickup is routine.
