Sydney Maxi Taxi moves groups around Sydney in maxi vans and seven seaters, so families, sports teams, school groups and friends travel together instead of splitting across several cars. Every trip has a fixed quote before you book, and regular day trips run to the Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong.

How does group transport by maxi taxi work?
You book one vehicle for the whole group and get one fixed price before you travel. Sydney Maxi Taxi's maxi cabs handle group transfers for families with airport luggage, sports teams with kit bags, tour and school groups, and friends heading out for the night. Nobody is left waiting for a second car.
When you book online, give the passenger count, the number of large bags and anything bulky, such as a pram, a cricket kit or a folding wheelchair. Those details decide the vehicle more than the head count does. If any passengers are young children, add their ages so the right seats are fitted.
Which maxi taxi does your group need?
Pick by bags as well as seats. A seven seater suits a mid-size group with ample boot space, while our largest maxi van has the most seats and large luggage space for an airport run or a weekend away.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Typical models |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maxi Van | Up to 11 passengers | Large luggage space | Toyota HiAce, Mercedes Sprinter or similar |
| Maxi 7 Seater | Up to 7 passengers | Ample boot space | Kia Carnival, Hyundai Staria or similar |
Seats and boot space trade off against each other. A van full of adults with long-haul suitcases can run out of luggage room before it runs out of seats, so give us the real bag count and we'll confirm it fits. The fleet page has photos and models for every vehicle.
When are two vehicles better than one?
Book two vehicles when the luggage won't fit in one, when people are heading to different suburbs, when half the group has to leave early, or when someone travels in their wheelchair. Some examples:
- A big family arriving on two flights: one vehicle per flight, so nobody waits hours at arrivals.
- A sports team with a coach and a pile of gear: a maxi van for the players and a seven seater for staff and kit.
- A group with a wheelchair user: a wheelchair accessible taxi for the chair and a carer, with everyone else in a maxi van.
- Friends leaving a function at different times: an early run home and a late one.
We quote both vehicles before you book, so you see the full price up front. The exception is a trip paid with TTSS, the NSW taxi subsidy. TTSS trips are charged under the NSW maximum fares rules; we confirm how your fare is charged when you book.
How do you book a maxi taxi for a night out?
Book both legs at once and agree on one pickup point. A group that gathers at one address, or outside one venue, gets moving much faster than one spread along a busy street.
Choose a spot where a van can stop safely, such as a quiet side street near the venue, rather than a main road where stopping isn't allowed. Give us one mobile number for the group, agree a rough finish time, and message 0416 507 515 if the night runs longer.
Can we book a maxi taxi for a day trip out of Sydney?
Yes. Regular trips run to the Hunter Valley, the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast and Wollongong, with a fixed quote on request. Send the stops in order, the time you want to leave and the time you want to be home.
Visit NSW puts the Hunter Valley at just over two hours from Sydney, so a wine day there starts early. Lock in your cellar door and lunch bookings first, then we set the pickup times around them. For the Blue Mountains or the Central Coast, list the towns or lookouts you want to see and we'll quote the day. Visit NSW suggests the Grand Pacific Drive for the trip south to Wollongong, so say if you'd like that route and where you want to stop.

Is one maxi taxi better than two rideshare cars?
For a group that wants to stay together, usually. One maxi taxi means one pickup and a fixed price agreed before you travel, while two cars means two bookings and a group that arrives in halves.
Our guide to maxi taxi vs Uber XL compares the two in detail. Ready to plan your group trip? Book a maxi van or call 0416 507 515.
